Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need a paper certificate to book my resort vacation?
Absolutely not. All you need is the
Account Number (7133-0000), the 800 number (1-877-772-2322), a credit card
number, an idea of when and where you want to go and the desire to get away and
have fun!
I am looking for space at a specific location and/or time. Can you help me?
All of our available resort vacations are listed on the Search option on our Web
Site. It is updated daily, so please keep checking back to see if your desired
date and location is available. If you do not see it there and you have a
specific time and place you want to vacation, feel free to call the Reservation
Center (1-877-772-2322), they might be able to find it for you.

Do I have to stay the entire time?
The space that is made available to Veterans
Holidays comes in one-week, seven day increments. That does not mean that you
have to stay the entire seven days. If the available week runs from Friday to
Friday, you can check in on Saturday (Sunday or Monday), but you still have to
check out the following Friday. If you can’t stay the entire period, you can
also check out early. However, if you check in late, or check out early, you
still pay the full $329.
Are there any discount airfare, car rentals or other travel
packages available to use with my resort vacation?
Discounted car rentals are available
through Veterans Holidays. Check out the Club Opportunities section of the
website for information.
Are the resorts handicap accessible?
Because needs vary greatly and
resort facilities are all different, once you chose your resort destination and
BEFORE you book your trip, call the resort directly. Describe your needs to them
and they can tell you if they can accommodate you.
Can I take non-eligible travel companions?
Yes. The only requirements are that the
eligible person be 21 and traveling with the party and that the reservation be
in their name. Otherwise, you may take as many people as you want. You can
even book multiple condos at the same time and location; as many condos as you
want and are available. We just want you to enjoy yourself. As the saying goes
- the more the merrier - so bring as many or as few friends and family as you
want.
Am I eligible to participate?
Eligibility is very simple. If you are active duty, retired or honorably discharged or separated from one of the 7 Uniformed Services (Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, NOAA, and Public Health Service), or are active duty, retired or honorably discharged or spearated from the National Guard or Reserves, or
are a current or retired employee of the Veterans Administration or Department of Veterans Affairs, or
are an employee or member of a participating organization with an assigned Veterans Organization Number (VON), you are eligible to participate
in Veterans Holidays.
I talked to a Vacation Counselor about a week in Cancun that I found on the web site and was told my total cost would be almost $2,000 for my wife and I. I thought the Veterans Holidays rate was $329 per week?
You are correct on both
counts. The week use of the condo is $329. However, some of the resorts in
Mexico and the Caribbean are "all-inclusive" resorts. That means the resort
provides your meals, beverages, entertainment, and sometimes day trips, just
like on a cruise ship. Anyone who stays at an all-inclusive resort pays a per
person fee for this service. At some resorts it is an option. At others, it is
a requirement for all guests. Even owners at these resorts must pay the
all-inclusive fee when they use their own condo. All-inclusive conditions and
rates are set by the resort and we have no control over
them.
These fees are based upon a matter of logistics. Many of the resorts that charge such fees are in somewhat isolated areas and may have limited access to potable water and foodstuff (e.g., in Cancun there are very few food stores). In these situations, the resorts must order food and water well in advance to ensure sufficient quantities are on hand for their guests. Therefore they charge an "all-inclusive" fee.
A list of all-inclusive resorts can be found in the All-Inclusive section of this web site. Additionally, the Vacation Guides will ALWAYS tell you about any all-inclusive conditions and rates BEFORE you confirm a reservation. If you do not want to pay the all-inclusive fee, simply pick a different destination.
I am interested in staying at the Moon Palace in Cancun,
or another all-inclusive resort. How do I go about getting
prices?
Veterans Holidays Space-A rentals are a flat
rate of $329 per unit per week, regardless of the size of the unit, the location
of the resort, or the time of year. This price covers 7 nights lodging; meals,
tax (if any), security deposit (if any), transportation, and optional activities
(if any) are not included. Because all-inclusive fees vary between resorts, we
do not try to post them on the web site. When you call the reservation center to
make a reservation at an all-inclusive resort, the counselor will tell you what
the fee is for that resort PRIOR to completing your reservation.

I am searching for accommodations in Italy,
but the earliest listing in "Availability" is "10/03/05." Is there any way to
reserve something sooner?
No, unfortunately we cannot accept reservations or
requests prior to a unit being identifies as available for Veterans Holidays Space-A rental.
As soon as inventory becomes available in any location, we will post it to the
web site.
Click Here for tips on booking at high demand
locations and during peak season.
How long in advance do I have to make a
reservation to be safe or to be sure there is space available?
Units may become available for Veterans
Holidays Space-A rental anywhere from 2 to 360 days in advance of check-in. As
soon as they become available, they can be reserved. Once a reservation is
made, the unit is taken out of the available inventory pool and that unit is
yours. Reservations are made on a first-come, first-served basis, so a high
demand location may be available in the morning, but gone by afternoon. If all
available units have been reserved prior to your call, a Vacation Guide will
assist you with finding an alternative location or available date. When all
available other units at a resort have been reserved, the resort will drop off
the web site when the database is updated the next morning.
